Setup guide

From invite to live alerts.

About ten minutes to connect, then a week of shadow mode while your staff check the flags.

Before you start

  • A private ER:LC server with the ERLC API server pack.
  • Your server key: in game, open your private server's Settings and search for API key.
  • Manage Server permission in your Discord server.
  • A staff channel for alerts, a quiet channel for logs, and the roles your staff have.

1. Add the bot

Add Liberty Guard to your Discord server. It asks only for what it uses: reading and sending messages, attaching files, starting threads, and pinning its status panel. It never needs Administrator.

2. Run /setup

A private form asks for your server key. Liberty Guard checks it with PRC straight away and tells you if anything is wrong. Then pick your alerts channel, your log channel, your staff roles and a preset: Strict, Balanced or Lenient. Balanced is the place to start.

Your key is encrypted before it is stored and never shown again.

3. A week in shadow mode

Every detector starts in Shadow. Flags go to your quiet log channel and nothing is sent in game. Have your staff open each one and press Confirm, False positive or Unsure. Those verdicts are how Liberty Guard learns which detectors to trust on your server.

If one detector flags lots of clean play, raise its limits with /config set or on the Detectors page of the dashboard.

4. Promote what has earned it

/stats and the dashboard show each detector's precision. Once one is right at least 90% of the time over 30 verdicts, move it to Live with /detectors: its flags then go to your staff channel with action buttons.

When you are happy, turn shadow mode off with /shadow off so staff can warn, kick and ban from the cards.

5. Automatic actions, if you want them

A detector in Auto mode may act on its own, but only for the actions you switch on in Settings, and always within the safety limits: never on staff or whitelisted players, two separate signals before a kick or ban, and a pause after five actions in an hour. /killswitch on stops all of it instantly.

Optional extras

  • In-game reports: /config webhook gives you a link for the Event Webhook setting in game. Players can then type ;report with a name and a reason.
  • Live status panel: /panel posts and pins a panel that updates every minute.
  • Pings and quiet hours: /config routing sets a role to ping on critical cases, and /config quiet sends DMs to on-call staff overnight instead.
  • Appeals: players use /appeal open with their case number.
